Before we ever attach reins to a bit, we make sure our horses understand everything in a halter first. Give to pressure- ☑️down, ☑️left, ☑️right, and ☑️up and be soft in forward motion & backing up! Why? Because it's way easier to communicate clearly in a halter than pulling on their mouth trying to explain something new. We never introduce anything for the first time in the bit. And even months into training, if our horses struggle to understand, I go back to the halter to clarify. It's all abo
