Congress directed the Defense Health Agency to assume responsibility for the administration and management of health care at all military hospitals on clinics. Several facilities transitioned to the DHA on October 1, 2018 marking the beginning of the Military Health System Transformation. This transition will maximize efficiencies by eliminating redundancies in headquarters, intermediate commands, clinical functions and businesses.
