Wildfires across Washington State have burned more than 237,000 acres and counting, with 11 major fires currently burning. The Labor Mountain Fire, burning in and around Highway 97 near Blewett Pass, has grown to over 37,000 acres with 7% containment as of Oct. 1. There are 567 structures or homes under the evacuation zone, according to Jeff Dimke, the Labor Mountain Fire Incident Commander. The fire has also led to a 30-mile closure of Highway 97.
