Scientists Susumu Kitagawa, Richard Robson and Omar Yaghi have won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for developing a new form of molecular architecture.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences is announcing the Nobel Prize in chemistry Wednesday.

These are called "metal-organic frameworks". They can be used to extract water from desert air, capture carbon dioxide, or store toxic gases.
